Intro
We developed the Hideaway Hollow update turnkey for Staxel over 4 months with each month a milestone delivery accompanied by an update presentation. The content update involved a new adventure crossing new worlds, new quests, new NPCs and all the additional essential elements that come with a holistic update touching upon most features.
My Responsibilities
Spearheaded the turnkey development of the major content update this live title as the sole programmer in a proprietary C# engine.
- Developed new main questline with side questlines
- New abstract functionalities in C#, accessible for modders in scripting (Json), incl netcode.
- Scripting all new questflow with existing and new tech.
- Interactions with new and existing NPCs. Dialogue writing and implementation with YarnSpinner (YARN)
- Initial world building before onboarding level designer.
- Developed various miscellaneous new tech to enhance the level of control for the unique feel of the art direction (e.g. customizable world sky).
- Defined workflow and pipelines for asset integrations, and supported the team on the more technical integrations.
- Co-presented client updates and was responsible for any communication on tech.
- Responsible for all source deliveries on client’s GitHub.
It was a breeze working with Stitch Heads on the update, low friction and a great update.
